April 2026 Replacement EP&O Levy
This is not a new levy. It’s a replacement of a previously approved levy that expired at the end of 2025.
Local levy dollars support staffing and student programs that are not fully funded by the state, including:
Extracurricular activities, including band, choir, drama, and athletics
Elementary music, art, and physical education
School safety, including security officers and security camera upgrades
School nurses, library technicians, security, custodians, counselors, and substitutes
Learning technology
Classroom curriculum updates
Based on our community’s feedback, we have made cuts and revised our levy “ask” to our community by $3.4 million compared to the previous November 2025 EP&O levy proposal.
If approved by voters, the proposed levy measure on the April 2026 ballot would keep the tax rate well below the average 2025 EP&O levy tax rate in Mason County.
Proactively making cost reductions
Based on community feedback, we’re proactively making $1.3 million in cuts at the Central Office to refocus our investments on student achievement in the classroom. This includes eliminating two district administrative positions. The two administrative positions cut in the spring of 2026 will not be replaced, even if voters approve the April 2026 levy measure.
How do I vote?
Washington is a vote-by-mail state. Return your ballot in an official drop box or by mail, no postage is necessary. Ballots must be postmarked by election day, April 28.
